Spiritual Sacrifice

Understanding and Accepting Spiritual Sacrifice as a Natural part of the Equation.

Acts of spiritual sacrifice are a complex and intimate part of all world religions and cultures. At its most basic level, sacrifice is a basic element of human life and existence.

Sacrifice is what motivates us to save for a rainy day or prepare for the winter when the production of many resources is limited by the natural and cyclical aspects of nature an existence on this earthen plane level.

It is the motivating force and ideal behind budgeting and keeping and maintaining schedules so they we make the best use of our time and resources for an ultimate favorable outcome.

We are taught this again, moment by moment by the cycles of the ever changing weather and seasons for we know and understand that everything is moving, changing and relative within our realm of existence and this can not be negated, like Karmic Law cannot be negated.

It is a Divine Cosmic Universal Law and the application and understanding of The Law of Mirrors.

The hopeful and powerfully magical aspect of this understanding is that this is the same principle and science behind the power of positive thinking, prayer and ritual spell work.

It is within our understanding of these forces that we are able to get a prayer through.

To make our dreams and visions manifest and it is the knowing of these boundaries that keep it all solid and from imploding in upon itself in the bad weathering times and cycles.

So there has to be an appropriate balance of the wants, needs and particulars of the details of any particular event or manifestation to be ‘worked’ and Karmic implications and sacrifices much be measured and taken into account.

Sacrifice manifest not just in what we offer or Offerings before the altar or secret place of the deities and forces we tap into in times of distress to carry our request, prayers and concerns before the creative forces of the Creator but, sacrifice is also the act of purification or ourselves and implements. It is also the acts we perform and do in earnest to purify, cleanse, enliven, project, direct and produce our intended and desired result and manifestation, understanding the range of balance within all things.

So we pay sacrifice in deed, tithes, offering, action, intention and implication, Karma and all in balance with the natural laws of season and the Divine Creator, the ultimate source of all that is good and righteous.

So I implore you to soul search and ask yourself the questions of when, what, who and where you are committed to the sacrifice necessary to elicit that which you need, desire and request before the Divine Powers of this Universe understanding that all is indeed possible within the appropriate ratios of balance, offering, action, intention AND sacrifice.

Know there is no way around having to pay the proverbial fee that life, nature, the Universe and the Deities will require of us in all things.

If what we ask is not even for our good or more to fulfill our selfish desires, than that which is of Divine Order, the Creator has still given us access to that within the realms of our own personal will. This is why even bad people seem to get what they want when good people may suffer or pay what we perceive to be a higher price in life experience.

It is the rule behind, “All things in moderation”.

But if you understand my words, message and meaning now, you understand that there is always a price, for the rich man or the bad man or the person whose material illusions of success we covet and are envious of, they have and do pay a toll or sacrifice.

It is explicit in the saying, “Walk a mile in another person’s moccasins.”

It is implied in the Divine Mysteries and Parables of the Talents of Matthew Chapter 25 and the proper and appropriate symbolic spiritual preparation in the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew Chapter 25 for the time, day, hour and moment of the ‘Weighing of the Hearts’ and the ‘Balancing of the Ratios and Variables’ is within itself a Divine Mystery.

That transaction may not always be apparent or visibly on the surface and obscured by the veils but the Divine Presence, Principles, Understanding and Mystery, it is intrinsic and inherent if not necessary and built in Divinely and in order to the life process, magical process and the natural process of obtaining within this realm.

To make this simple I will provide two examples:

#1 The rich man may lack education and skill and the commitment to sacrifice in blood, sweat, tears and labor but is abundant in money and may ‘buy’ what it is he wants to manifest.

Fair? Not necessarily but a natural fact of life and existence.

#2 The poor man may totally lack, money, resources and political contacts so by this is forces naturally by circumstance to have to sacrifice in labor, study to maybe better prepare for and produce the same thing scenario man #1 is manifesting.

Fair is dependant on your position within either scenario and maybe not but again, a natural part of life and the cycle for man, animal and much of creation and our natural battle and fight for existence and survival.

It is the ultimately up to the Divine Creators and the individual Soul itself to sort out the ratios and the heart is weighed against our deeds, actions, options, choices, wants, needs, skills, abilities, creativity, honesty, purity of thought and intention, understanding, education, wisdom, foreknowledge and capabilities – our SACRIFICE.

So we ask ourselves are we really willing to change and what are we really willing to change of ourselves or our situation? Do we change a key player in any given scenario or do we change our position within any particular scenario?

Do we gather resources plan or strategize if qualified to do so or do we look outside ourselves and seek aid and assistance from a more qualified source or expert in that area we are seeking to manifest within?

And what is the cost?

Some are qualified and possess the talent, skills and or the resources for Ivy League schools and education and therefore their path is determined by their unique set of circumstances and their sacrifice is appropriated in accordance to all the variables within their unique and personalized equation.

Others of us may not possess the resources, talents or skills or maybe not in the same proportions and degrees to our circumstance and opt for city or community college, on the job training and skilled trade schools and may have to work harder than the more resourced individual but ultimately have access to the same level of successes and experience, particularly here in the United States.

Or another may lack resources but possess skill and talent and is gifted a scholarship or some form of assistance, reference or referral based on this unique set of circumstances also demanding the appropriate and necessary sacrifice within balance to all the relative variables of this particular scenario.

At least that is the philosophy we say would strive to live up to and live by.

I mention all these scenarios to demonstrate the deeper meaning and message I am attempting to convey within this document.

Sacrifice is a part of life and the natural cycle of things and something we commit to every single moment of everyday in ratio to our faith, belief, circumstances, situation, skills, need, necessities and resources.

What separates the person who succeeds in ‘ANY’ endeavor and the one who does not is the amount of and willingness to make the necessary and appropriate sacrifice and effort, even when confronted with set-backs and road-blocks which are a natural part of everyone’s life process and experience within this realm, plan and dimension.

We as humans get stuck within our own situation and are limited within our range of vision so we only see within the moment, our own complex, complicated situation and pity.

But the superior person, spiritually only sees the opportunities and becomes compelled to be more creative and locate the solutions and make the appropriate sacrifices to effect real, tangible and lasting changes to their environment and circumstance.

The movie creator knows and understands that even if you have a brilliant and pliable idea, you must sacrifice a million dollars in money and labor in order to invest in the supposed future success of the project, upon completion of the production and work and that is a SACRIFICE.

We work forty hours a week in trust and contract, sleeping and schedule our personal lives and time for someone else’s vision, understanding that our SACRIFICE will be rewarded with a pay check at the end of the week.

So there is a lot of fear, confusion, mysticism and mystery around the word sacrifice, particularly when people outside of magical paths, traditions and religions like Hoodoo and other Pan-African Diaspora based religious traditions hear the word.

Even within the Christian community some people are alarmed when they hear of people ‘speaking in tongues’ under the utterance and influence of the Holy Ghost or ‘faith healing’ ‘casting out devils’ or exorcisms, and ‘snake handling’.

All perceived as spooky and somewhat eerie and mysterious to the over-all general population, often just doing everything they think or understand that they can, to get by from day to day, often SACRIFICING diet, health, family life and spirituality.

The interesting and most powerful thing of all is that we have Divine Will and choice to chose how, when, where and even why we make sacrifice, even when we are confused and have lost sight of the reasoning and understanding in any given moment.

Ultimately we all pay in SACRIFICE, at the beginning, somewhere in the middle or in the end.

It is inescapable and a natural force known to all world cultures by many names, Karma being just one interpretation of sacrifice.

We all know a ‘nursery rhyme’ of the ones who did not, would not prepare for the winter and hard times that always did and will come.

Examine your sacrifice in any endeavor and you will find the key to moving through any life blocks: in business, relationships, finances, personal responsibility and preparedness, love, education, life experiences, personal health and wealth and spirituality and religion.

So ask and search yourself, understanding the depth and 360 degreed implications of paying our dues, tithes, sacrifice and offerings. When we do not pay the prescribed cost in life, we ultimately within this Divine Mystery hurt, cheat or rob OURSELVES.

When we do not commit to, what ever it is, pay the appropriate and necessary attention to and make the required sacrifices for (even in child rearing) we bring the proverbial cost back to the source: OURSELVES.

Malachi 3:8 (King James Version of the Bible)

8 Will A Man Rob God?

Yet Ye Have Robbed Me. But Ye Say, Wherein Have We Robbed Thee? (You have robbed me)

In Tithes And Offerings.

Matthew 25:41-46 (King James Version)

41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

When we don’t make the appropriate sacrifices in health and diet, in body and community, we don’t just defile and show dishonor to our bodies and ourselves but to the ‘least of Gods children, even ourselves and the Divine Creator.

And we now know and understand, even as it is taught and implied in the teaching of Namasté, that ‘The Divine in me greets the Divine in you, in Divine Namasté.”

In Rastafarian it is said, I and I are Roots. Meaning I (or me), We, Us and They; You, God and Goddess are ultimately one and the same. There is no personal pronoun usage in Rastafarianism and many other world religious dialects and language usages, linking the individual to the whole of the Divine Process.

It is the sacred and Divine Mystery lost within the teachings of The Christ.
